-
- Myristoyl-CoA:protein N-myristoyltransferase (EC 2.3.1.97) (Nmt) [1] is the
- enzyme responsible for the transfer of a myristate group on the N-terminal
- glycine of a number of cellular eukaryotics and viral proteins.
-
- Nmt is a monomeric protein of about 50 to 60 Kd whose sequence appears to be
- well conserved. We have used two highly conserved regions as signature
- patterns. The first one is located in the central section, the second in the
- C-terminal part.
-
- -Consensus pattern: E-I-N-F-L-C-x-H-K
- -Sequences known to belong to this class detected by the pattern: ALL.
- -Other sequence(s) detected in SWISS-PROT: NONE.
-
- -Consensus pattern: K-F-G-x-G-D-G
- -Sequences known to belong to this class detected by the pattern: ALL.
- -Other sequence(s) detected in SWISS-PROT: Stigmatella aurantiaca sigma-B
- factor.
